Charity One-Ball Competition

On Sunday 18 members took part in a Charity One-ball Competition, managed by Marcus Evans. He ran it as a round flexible Swiss, with the top eight players after four rounds, playing a knockout to decide the winner. The four semi-finalists were Jim Gregory, Brian McCausland, Rob Royffe and Polly Reynolds. In a tremendous game Jim and Brian were 12-all when time was called. Play continued until one of them hit the peg to win the game. Brian shot at the peg, but missed, giving Jim a chance, which he took to win 13-12. In the other semi-final Rob beat Polly and Jim beat Rob in the final 13-11. The event raised £150 for Cancer Research UK.
