Nailsea and District Croquet Club Open Day
Nailsea Croquet Club had 35 visitors of all ages at its Open Day on Saturday. Guests were introduced to the game and played golf croquet.
The Club is running four separate Beginners Classes for adults and one for juniors during May and June.
The adult classes are on Thursday and Friday afternoons and evenings at 2 pm and 6 pm starting on May 13 and 14 and the juniors meet on Fridays at 4 pm starting on May 7 or 14.
The fee is £24 for adults and £12 for juniors for a six week course.

The Coles Championship
Nailsea's 17 year old croquet star, KRISS CHAMBERS came third in The Coles Championship, his first major Advanced Level Play event, at Cheltenham over the weekend.
With a handicap of -0.5 and unranked in the British Rankings he beat Nick EVANS (0.5), ranked 93rd +8, -11, +24, ANDREW COWING (0), ranked 65th, +19, +18 and ROGER JENKINS (-1), ranked 47th, +6, +10, before being beaten by DAVID FOULSER (-1.5), ranked 63rd, -16, -26 in the semi-final.
In the play-off for third place he beat DAVID MAGEE (-1), ranked 54th, +13, +15.
KRISS gained 51 index points on his handicap over the weekend.
The winner of the event was REG BAMFORD (-2), ranked 7th, who finished the tournament with a sextuple peel.
