Nailsea Croquet Club Golf Croquet Competitions

On Saturday five pairs entered the doubles, which was won by PETER DYKE and BRIAN PHELPS with three wins out of four games. MARCUS EVANS and MAUREEN MURPHY were runners-up - they also had three wins, but had lost to PETER and BRIAN.

On Sunday morning there were nine entries for the Level Play Singles. The competition was divided into a high handicap block and a low handicap block. There were four players in the high handicap block and the winner was BRIGIT CLAYTON with two wins out of three. The runner-up was BRIAN PHELPS also with two wins, but he had lost to BRIGIT. The remaining five players competed in the low handicap block. The block leaders are PETER DYKE and MARCUS EVANS each with three wins out of three games and still to play each other. This will take place at a later date.

On Sunday afternoon there were twelve competitors in the Handicap Singles. They were divided into three blocks of four. The block winners were MARY BARNES, ARTHUR GREEN and PETER DYKE and the runners-up were DAVID MURPHY, MARCUS EVANS and MAUREEN MURPHY. The three block winners go forward to the semi finals in September and there will be a play-off between the three runners-up for the fourth semi final place.
