The National Golf Croquet Championship Finals
22 players from all over the country came to Nailsea to take part in the championships.
Two local players were amongst the participants.
PETER DYKE from Nailsea was unsuccessful in the singles, unable to win a single game, but MARIAN HILTON (Bristol & Nailsea) was more successful winning two games out of five and she came fourth out of the six contestants in her block.
On Sunday PETER and MARIAN played together in the doubles. Ranked as complete outsiders the pair pulled off a surprise with two wins and one drawn game out of the five games they played and they finished third in their block of six pairs.
NELSON MORROW from London won the singles and CHRIS and RODDY SHEEN from Colchester
and London won the doubles.
