Wild Wednesday
This was a fun competition called Wild Wednesday, based on one held every Wednesday at Bowdon Croquet Club, near Manchester.
This competition consisted of three 14-point handicap singles games in which both players had bisques. After each game the winner gains 20 points plus the margin of their win and the loser gains their score, so if the score is 14-6 the winner gains 28 points and the loser gains 6 points. The winner was the person with the most points at the end of the day.
After one round Brigit Clayton was in the lead with 34 points, followed by Gwyn Doyle (32) and Peter Dyke (30).
After two rounds Mary Barnes (54) was the leader followed by Gwyn (53) and Sheila Ware (51).
At the end of the third round Gwyn Doyle (3 wins, 86 points) came first while Kathy Wallace (2 wins, 73 points) took second place, beating Bernard Wilson (3 wins, 70 points) who came third.
