One Ball Competition

The Level Play one-ball competition took place in the morning. In Block A, Greta Stringer won all her 3 games so she secured a semi-final place as did Brian McCausland with 2 wins. In Block B, Jim Gregory, Pat Long, and Bernard Wilson all had 2 wins but Pat and Bernard made the semi-finals by having better scores. In the semi-finals, Greta beat Bernard by 2 points and Pat beat Brian by 2 points.

In the afternoon, the handicap version was played. In the Blocks, Jim Gregory (3 wins), Mary Barnes (2 wins), Brian McCausland (3 wins) and Bernard Wilson (1 win), reached the semi-finals. Beginner Peggy Price played in her first competition and gave an excellent display with very narrow defeats in 2 games. In the semi-finals, Jim beat Bernard by 6 points and Brian beat Mary by 8 points.

The Finals will take place in October.
