Beginners' Competition

Although only 3 people were available to take part in this competition, the standard of play was high. The players coped well with the fast surface which made the balls difficult to control. The game between Peggy Price and Jinx Newley was close but Andrew Terry had 2 comfortable victories. He attempted a rover peel but was ruled to have made a foul shot. All 3 entrants gave spirited performances and they show great promise as croquet players. Andrew and Jinx will play a Final in October to compete for the Neurologica Shield.
